Alanna O'Neil is a designer and photographer based in Maui, Hawaii. Originally from the Green Mountains of Vermont, she found a slow and peaceful bit of paradise in Maui to call home.
Her work is focused on visual stories, outdoor living, and entertaining rooted in nature with heartfelt charm. Her photography celebrates outdoor entertaining and slow living. She strives to cultivate the connection between outdoor gatherings, wellbeing, and a wholesome lifestyle.
Growing up on a rural horse farm in Vermont influenced her values and passion for food. Her mother taught her how to cook sustainably and seasonally using ingredients grown in their large garden. She has lived and studied abroad in Paris, New York City, and throughout Europe.
Her time spent in Europe deeply influenced her passion for convivial outdoor gatherings that celebrate the local food and culture with the ones you love.Her first book, The Art of Picnics: Seasonal Entertaining in the Great Outdoors, is available this autumn 2021.
